For a non-Canadian it was an awesome experience. Beautiful cabins in the woods (need to walk a bit to reach them right!), amazing views, nicely arranged, and tonnes of attractions: hiking, kayaking, swimming… Very nice staff too.
If you are with us for a few days and want something more challenging, then here are some further suggestions; Mashkinonje Provincial Park is a twenty-five minute drive away and has thirty-five kilometres of marked trails. Killarney provincial park is about an hour and a half’s drive from the lodge with one hour hikes to one hundred kilometre hikes. Recollet Falls and the French River visitor centre, about a forty minute drive from the lodge has a fascinating small museum and a forty minute walk to a lovely falls.
Hike Lodge at Pine Cove, on our well marked trails. From a twenty minute stroll to a three hour hike across the rugged Canadian Shield, you will find plenty of trails to interest you. Beaver ponds, wonderful rock formations, huge lichen beds, a cranberry bog, immense pine trees and plenty of other flora and fauna. Hike Pine Cove and discover the French River.
From time to time we will interest you with developments at the lodge - projects, competitions, the river & the environment.
